MEET THE DOCTORS
DR. DAVID WILSON, DC, ACU
As a native of Meridian, Mississippi, I grew up with an initial interest in the health field. I earned my Bachelor of Science degree in chemistry at Tougaloo College (just outside of Jackson, MS) and then went on to earn a Master of Science degree in biochemistry at Mississippi State University.
Upon relocating to the Kansas City area, I had spent nearly 14 years working in the corporate lab setting prior to attending Cleveland University (formerly Cleveland Chiropractic College). My sister-in-law’s recommendation and my wife’s past encounter with repercussions from a motor vehicle accident lead to my interest in chiropractic. Actually sitting-in on a number of her chiropractic visits, interacting with her chiropractors, researching the field of chiropractic, and coming to the realization of how chiropractic just “makes sense” all led to the ultimate life-changing decision to become a chiropractor myself. During chiropractic school, I had also attained 300 hours of coursework/training as a board-eligible candidate for DABCI (Diplomate of the American Board of Chiropractic Internists) certification, which will allow me to diagnose and treat patients via chiropractic care through the interpretation of lab results.
In my limited spare time, I enjoy hanging out with my wife and kids, watching (and playing) various sports, & listening to various styles of music. I’m an accomplished musician (pianist/organist) for my church and have been seen at times playing at other events throughout the greater Kansas City area. I started with the ASFCA family (Lee’s Summit clinic) straight out of chiropractic school in the fall of 2018 while assisting patients with their rehabilitation as part of my school’s preceptorship program. I soon achieved my long-awaited goal in becoming a licensed chiropractic physician and board-certified in physiotherapy where my “gifts” can hopefully make a lasting impact on someone’s life!
DR. JOSEPH LI, DC, ACU
Dr. Joseph (Joe ) Li was born and raised in north New Jersey, just 30 minutes west of New York City in the suburbs of Morris County. His introduction into chiropractic was through his mother, who suffered a car accident and was recommended to see a chiropractor for rehabilitation. After feeling the results, she told Joe to check him out when he was complaining of shoulder and back problems from tennis and basketball. Doctor Li seemed proficient in science and math which led him to pursue an accelerated doctorate of chiropractic program in his undergraduate studies at Fairleigh Dickinson University, where he earned a tennis scholarship on top of an academic one. After 3 years in college, he went directly to the affiliated chiropractic school called Logan University near St. Louis, Missouri.
He spent four and a half years there completing his studies and his clinicals on top of all his board requirements necessary for practice. Finally, he returned back to NJ in order to join a multi-disciplinary practice to work alongside physical therapists and acupuncturists, which is how he obtained his rehabilitation background. Over the years, he combined knowledge from various chiropractors to become the physician he is today, centering on a holistic neuro-musculoskeletal approach.
In his spare time, Dr. Li can find fun in almost every activity and loves to try anything new. His normal multitude of interests range from tennis, football (NY Jets) , baseball (STL Cardinals ), basketball (San Antonio Spurs), chess, music, movies, cooking, exploring restaurants/bars, and clothes to things like geography, neuroscience, philosophy, history, and poetry. His caring, calm, and easy going demeanor makes him very receptive to patients.
DR. ANGELA STERLING, DC
Meet Dr. Angela Sterling, a Doctor of Chiropractic at Advanced Sports and Family Chiropractic and Acupuncture of Lee’s Summit.
Dr. Sterling has always been passionate about helping others in need; this led her down the path of alternative medicine into a career that allows her to provide her patients with high-quality healthcare.
As a licensed Doctor of Chiropractic, Dr. Sterling is passionate about the holistic approach to medicine and finding comfortable and practical solutions for everyone. Dr. Angela is dedicated to building long-lasting relationships based on trust and medical integrity with every single patient.
She is a skilled adjuster and effective communicator, but her compassion for her patients is one of her best qualities. For her, being a Chiropractor is not a job but rather a dream where she gets to use her gift to help patients every day. Dr. Sterling specializes in the Blair Upper Cervical Technique, which is not widely practiced in the United States. This technique is highly sought after by many patients who suffer from nerve-related disorders caused by misalignment or malformation of the upper cervical spine.
Dr. Sterling is also certified in athletic TIPs and the prevention and treatment of sports injuries and concussions. She is proficient in treating amateur athletes (K-12 and college) with multi-disciplinary care. She grew up in Blue Springs, Missouri. She graduated from Cleveland Chiropractic College with a Bachelor of Science in Human Biology and a Doctor of Chiropractic. When she’s not treating patients at ASFCA of Lee’s Summit, she enjoys spending time outdoors with her husband and their two English Mastiffs.

DR. CHASE VIFQUAIN, DC
Dr. Chase Vifquain has been passionate about chiropractic care for as long as he can remember. Growing up in a chiropractic family, he was introduced to the field by his father, who is also a chiropractor. From an early age, Dr. Chase experienced the benefits of regular chiropractic adjustments, which helped shape his understanding of the importance of spinal health, joint mobility, and overall wellness. These early experiences laid the foundation for his belief that chiropractic care is essential to living an active, pain-free, and healthy lifestyle.
Born and raised in Lee’s Summit, Missouri, Dr. Chase graduated from Lee’s Summit North High School in 2004. After gaining valuable life experience in the workforce, he went on to earn a Bachelor’s degree in Business Management from the University of Central Missouri. He later pursued his passion for healthcare and earned his Doctorate of Chiropractic from Cleveland Chiropractic College in 2015. He is nationally certified in both Chiropractic and Physiotherapy.
Dr. Chase has since practiced at Lee’s Summit Chiropractic Center and Chase Chiropractic in Kansas City. He is known for his individualized approach to care, tailoring treatments to each patient’s specific needs and conditions. His primary adjusting technique is manual diversified, but he also utilizes drop table and activator methods as needed. He specializes in treating a wide range of conditions including neck radiculopathy, headaches, sciatica, mid and low back pain, TMJ dysfunction, and sports injuries. He also emphasizes preventative care, helping patients maintain spinal health before pain or injury occurs.
Outside the clinic, Dr. Chase enjoys spending quality time with his girlfriend, family, friends, and dogs. He leads an active lifestyle and is an avid fan of the Kansas City Chiefs and Royals. His hobbies include golf, sand volleyball, biking, snowboarding, wakeboarding, softball, billiards, bow hunting, and working on hands-on projects.
